The miracle of nature is that whenever there has been a challenge, there is an organism that has found a way to conquer it. Want to live a life of zero waste? Nature has done it! What to live in the desert with no water? Nature has done it? Want to live a more meaningful and prosperous life? Nature has done it!
There are just over 8.7 million described plants and animals on Earth which are essentially individual science experiments, perpetually testing out new ways of doing things in order to find a better way. Since we all live under the same laws of nature and under the same conditions of planet Earth, it makes sense that we learn from the inner workings of the natural world to overcome the challenges of modern life.
The Biomimicry Walk focuses upon how wherever there has been a challenge, nature has found a way to conquer it. Since humans live under the same laws of nature and under the same conditions, it makes sense that we learn from the inner workings of the natural world and ask the question, how can we live a happier, healthier and more meaningful life?
The Biomimicry Walk is based upon the content of Jonathan Leeming’s award winning book, One World. During the walk we will examine aspects of the natural world and discuss the technology that comes from that aspect and what lessons can we learn from it. The walk includes a short interactive workshop that asks the question... what can we learn from the natural world that will help us in our own lives?
This event is highly interactive, thought provoking and includes a short workshop activity. Suitable for all physical abilities, the Biomimicry Walk is ideal for school groups, special interest groups and corporate events.
