Night Creepy Crawly Walk

Friday 20th January 2023, 6pm to 8pm. Kloofendal Nature Reserve.

Join Jonathan Leeming on a 2 hour night time exploration of Kloofendal Nature Reserve in search of all kind of animals that creep and crawl such as spiders, scorpions, insects, frogs, toads and if we are lucky snakes! This popular event teaches conservation, understanding and respect for all creatures. All animals are released back into where they came from. This event is suitable for the whole family. Approximate walking distance is 3km.

Biomimicry Walk

Saturday 21st January 2023, 8am to 10am. Kloofendal Nature Reserve.

The miracle of nature is that whenever there has been a challenge, nature has found a way to conquer it. There are just over 8.7 million described plants and animals on Earth that are essentially individual science experiments, perpetually testing out new ways of doing things in order to find a better way.

Jonathan Leeming will guide you on a practical exploration of Kloofendal Nature Reserve to discover technology and inspiration that will help us solve the challenges of our time. This 2 hour walk includes a short workshop activity.

Spider & Scorpion ID Course

Saturday 21st January 2023, 11am to 2pm. Kloofendal Nature Reserve.

This 3 hour course offers vital understanding for everyone who wishes to increase their spider and scorpion identification skills, which in turn will improve your first response for spider bites and scorpion stings. This course offers the most comprehensive and identification guide available, by focusing upon the following aspects of spiders and scorpions: classification, anatomy, identification, general size & shape, colouration & anatomy, behaviour, distribution & shelter.

Includes workbook, electronic certificate.
